The Commission administers the Associate Disability Management Specialist (ADMS™) Certificate Program which is a precursor to the Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS®) professional certification program - a widely acknowledged credential of professional excellence in the field of disability management. Completion of the ADMS certificate program attests to an individual’s specific knowledge and experience regarding workplace disability and related issues. Completion of the ADMS certificate program signifies an understanding and commitment to the field of disability management and best practices. The pathway to earning the ADMS certificate is through the Core Knowledge Curriculum (CKC™). The CDMS-related body of knowledge and job analysis research were used to develop a robust online, case-based educational tool known as the Core Knowledge Curriculum (CKC). The CKC provides the pathway to the ADMS through completion of a certificate program. The CKC is organized into an introductory module and four domain modules, each reflecting an area of practice, which includes:- Disability and Work Interruption Case Management: Disability and Work Interruption Case Management involves ethical performance of necessary activities pertaining to an individual’s illness or injury to ensure quality of care, recovery, and cost effectiveness. This entails planning, managing, and advocating for that individual’s return to meaningful work, a process that includes coordination of benefits and services and implementation of return-to-work plans.
- Workplace Intervention for Disability Prevention: Workplace Intervention for Disability Prevention involves joint labor/management collaboration in the identification of workplace safety and risk factors. It also covers the recommendation and implementation of prevention, health, and wellness intervention practices and strategies, such as ergonomics, job analyses, and return-to-work programs.
- Program Development, Management, and Evaluation: Program Development, Management, and Evaluation include identification of, need for and implementation of comprehensive disability management programs utilizing best practices practices & metrics.
- Employment Leaves and Benefits Administration: Employment Leaves and Benefits Administration includes management of employment leaves, health and welfare plans, payroll and systems management and other risks associated with work interruption.

- OBTAINING THE ADMS

- Core Knowledge Curriculum Completion
The ADMS is directly affiliated with the completion of the Core Knowledge Curriculum (CKC) certificate program. Upon completion of the material in each domain, curriculum students take a post-test. The Core Knowledge Curriculum certificate program will record the best possible score for each domain post-test. Each domain post-test requires an 80%
passing score. Upon completion of all four domains, the ADMS digital badge will be awarded.
- ADMS Certificates
Following completion of each module, participants will be required to fill out a survey and then will have immediate access to their ADMS certificate. Candidates will have the option to download or print the certificate for their records. Individual results will not be released to any institution or employer. A certificate will be available within the learning management system portal for any candidate who receives a passing score of 80% or more on the domain post-tests. After receiving the certificate, individuals are entitled to begin using the “ADMS” digital badge. Duplicate or replacement certificates can be retrieved by logging into the portal and navigating to the “My Certificates” option on the top of the page.
- Use of the “ADMS” Digital Badge
Use of the “ADMS” digital badge is strictly limited to those individuals who:
- Have completed the Core Knowledge Curriculum modules, post-tests, and evaluations
- Have received the official ADMS certificate of completion from the learning management system
- Core Knowledge Curriculum Completion
FEE: $275 per person (All Fees are Non-Refundable)
